Canon Tomas Kennedy has been elected the first bishop to be and his election has been confirmed by the House of Bishops of the Communion of Convergent Churches. Canon Kennedy was ordained a Presbyter in December 2003 and he gained a Master in Philosophy last year. Recently he has been developing a new church planting in Dublin, Ireland and he has also been involved in the development of the King’s Family of Churches in India.
In October, Canon Tomas will be consecrated in Spain. He will then be appointed Assistant Bishop in the International Office under the Presiding Bishop, the Rt Rev Josep M Rossello. His task will include the oversight of Europe and the development of India where the King’s Family has more than 800 congregations.
