This is my first Easter message to all of you, my beloved, and it has been the good will of God who leads me closer to you.
The King’s Family congregations around the world will join with other Christians in observing the most solemn time in the Christian year, Holy Week, beginning Sunday 16 March.
On Sunday, most of the world’s Christians will begin the observance of Holy Week, the days leading up to the most important of Christian holidays: Easter. (Eastern Orthodox believers, however, will mark this week next month because Easter falls on April 27 according to their ancient Julian calendar.) Each day of Holy Week has a special character because it represents events in the final week of the life of Jesus of Nazareth.
Christians from across Iraq have been attending the funeral of the Chaldean Catholic Archbishop of Mosul, Paulos Faraj Rahho.
Surrounded by armed guards, mourners wept and held flowers as the coffin was carried through the village of Kremlis, near Mosul in northern Iraq.
The archbishop’s body was found in a shallow grave on Thursday, two weeks after he was kidnapped.
At this moment on time, we ask our readers to pray for Canon Dr. Simon Stanley, founder of SAEM. He is one of the Indian missionary canons of the King’s Family as well as member of the Presiding Bishop’s Council of the KFC.
Please lift him up in prayer for a speedy and full recovery and for his family as they care for him.
